Is Counselling for you?

How does Counselling work?

Counselling can be a valuable resource for improving and maintaining good mental health. People seek counselling for various reasons, including depression, anxiety, low confidence, relationship issues, PTSD, addictions, trauma, grief, suicidal thoughts, abuse, feeling stuck, low self-esteem, or couples therapy. If something is impacting your life right now, Counselling Moray may be able to help.

Philosophy

At Counselling Moray, I believe that everyone has the potential to live a happy and fulfilling life. My philosophy is based on the idea that mental and emotional well-being are essential for overall health. I view therapy as a powerful tool for achieving this balance.

What Does Counselling Involve?

Counselling is a personalised process because everyone is different. Sessions will be tailored to your unique needs. You might want to talk about past experiences or focus on current issues. Discussing how your current thoughts affect your feelings can also be helpful. Your sessions last up to one hour (note: appointments for couples are from 60-75 minutes in duration).

I use various evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, to help you overcome negative thought patterns and behaviours. My approach to mental health is holistic, emphasising methods that best suit you.

Who Can Benefit from Our Services?

My counselling services are available to anyone over the age of 15 regardless of race, religion, gender, marital status, or sexual orientation.

About me

Background:

Throughout my career, I am fortunate to have worked with individuals of various ages and backgrounds, from different parts of the country. Here’s a summary of my professional journey:

I have offered private counselling services, since 2018, to individuals of all ages and I provide couples therapy. Relationships are an important part of our lives, but they can also be challenging.

GP Practice:

Previously, I provided a counselling service to patients referred to me by their GP.

· Addiction Service:

I have seven years of experience in an addiction service, supporting individuals in their recovery from alcohol and drug misuse. This involved: One-on-one sessions using psychosocial intervention and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
